World Rivers I’ve travelled

There are some 165 plus rivers in the world. 165 includes the longest ones from 7000-1000 km from the Nile believed to be the longest in the world but balanced against the Amazon that may, in fact, be the longest.

Being on a river brings me closer to water that is a natural high for everyone, re the ions we relate to and vibrate with, and the bigger the better – but also seeing the sights along the way from villages, activities like fishing and people wandering around in their usual lifestyles…

I have travelled on both the Amazon in 2016 (6575 km) and the Nile (8088 km) most recently, which for me is an interesting point.

The Nile from 2025 ….

The other key rivers I have travelled, not including length but known to me, are:

The Mekong (4350 km) was the other key one during my travels including from Phnom Penh to Siem Reap and visiting Tonle Sap in Cambodia albeit a huge lake you cannot see one side or end from anywhere – it looks more like a sea

Water Skiing on the River Murray in Australia (3672 km) on family visits and holidays with them

The Danube (2888 km) – see below) and touching on the Rhine (1233 km)

The Chao Phraya running through Bangkok in Thailand (236 km)

The Vlatva River dinner cruise through Prague (below)

The River Seine when visiting Paris from school and since

The River Thames from childhood visits to the city and relatives too

Each river travelled brings it’s own memories for me, and my own loves and disappointments (like the Amazon seeing the logging boats fully loaded and knowing the impact on world health, just for profit, as the largest rainforest in the world and brining life and cycles with it).
