Egypt was a place to visit for most of my life. I found it fascinating so over the years I have read about it, the pharaoh’s, seen displays like Tutankhamun’s in London or Manchester a few years ago -but not the death mask and mummy.
So many temples, like this one at Philae and more in Luxor and Edfu, all along the bottom end of the River Nile.

Since returning a friend of the family leant me some books so even more research and learning, this time in particular links to the bible like Moses adopted by a pharaoh and his second wife who found him in the bulrushes that line the Nile, and the Exodus from Egypt -myth or fact?

I did miss seeing the mask and sarcophagus again as we didn’t manage to see the Cairo Museum – so another trip back maybe in future. We did see the new GEM but not the same and less there, including missing the boat that used to be at Giza but now being prepared for display from July 2025.
Not as impressed as I’d hoped and expected with the Giza pyramids and the private guided tour through Viator but still, I have seen them, inside the second one but not the great pyramid but again, not much in any apparently.
