A long-awaited visit to Venice with my sister and BIL over from Australia too.

A place I wanted to visit but always to plan it.

It was cold on the evening we arrived, in a long sleeve T-shirt but warm in the daytimes after that.

A lovely place, unique and interesting.
Boats everywhere instead of the familiar cars to travel locally.

The gondola ride to was lovely – and fun!

Firstly I hadn’t planned well or intended to wear a matching top to the gondolier!

But I did get my sister and BIL to replay an internet photo of older couple falling asleep on the gentle gondola ride through the canals!

We took a ‘taxi’ boat too at one point to get to our walking tour and also there are ferries from stop to stop, bridges to walk along whilst looking at quaint shops and stopping for food and drink in cafes or restaurants …
